Following the periods of lockdown, the Government provided additional “Catch Up Funding” for schools to help fund specific activities to support their pupils to make up for lost learning during the pandemic.
The impact of the pandemic on learning has not been limited to the periods of lockdown, as the majority of schools have continued to experience significant disruption due to staff and pupil illness.
‘Recovery Premium Funding’ will continue to provide additional funding for schools until 2023-24. The amount of funding for individual schools is calculated based on the number of pupil premium eligible pupils, in recognition of the additional impact of the pandemic on these students.
The annual Pupil Premium Statement now includes information about the amount and use of Recovery Premium Funding.
